SPORT, NATURE AND FUN

CAMPIONE DEL GARDA THE CAPITAL OF WATER SPORTS

National and international sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing competitions are held in Campione sul Garda. Famous for these sports, it owes its success to the constant winds on its watery side. Its special position on the delta of the San Michele torrent between the lake and a canyon wedged in the rocky fault makes it similar to a fjord.

AQUATIC SPORT: Sailing

In Campione del Garda there are ideal conditions for sailing and windsurfing thanks to the favourable winds. The nautical centres on the shores of Lake Garda offer courses for all sailors, even for children who want to learn about the world of sailing.

AQUATIC SPORT: Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing (or kitesurfing or kiteboarding) is a water sport of recent invention (1999), born as a variant of surfing; it consists of being towed by a kite ('kite' in English), which uses the wind as its propeller and is manoeuvred through a 'control bar' (bar), connected to the kite by thin cables (four or five) of dyneema or spectra called 'lines', between 22 and 30 metres long. Because flying one's kite between the slopes and gorges, whizzing over the ultramarine blue surface of the lake, is like taking flight over water, but in the middle of the mountains. The magic formula? The winds that blow across Lake Garda.
It is a sport that you can start even at the age of 10.
